International Children issues. This covers child abduction, child relocation applications to take a child to live permanently abroad, recognition of foreign contact and residence orders, permission to take a child for a holiday abroad, enforcing child support abroad and international child adoption.
Children issues. This includes applications for orders for residence, contact, parental responsibility, child support, declarations of parentage and declarations of legitimacy
Financial resolution on relationship breakdown. This includes financial arrangements before and during marriage and on separation or divorce, termination of registered civil partnerships, and for cohabitants. We investigate disclosure, including wealth held behind trusts and companies and offshore assets. We advise on what is fair outcomes. We draft pre marriage agreements and cohabitation contracts.
International finance and forum. This includes forum shopping where advice is given as to which of two or possible countries is the more beneficial to have the divorce or other proceedings. Within Europe, it is fundamental to act very quickly because of Brussels II. We work closely with lawyers abroad. We cover enforcement of orders abroad and enforcing foreign orders here. We advise on the recognition of foreign marriages and foreign divorces.
Divorce and the ending of relationships. We cover all aspects of divorce, judicial separation and nullity, termination of civil partnerships, break up of cohabitation relationships.
Resolution by out of court settlements. We are committed to out of court resolutions. We include mediators, directive mediators and collaborative lawyers. We engage in early neutral evaluation. Our lawyers are highly experienced and skilled in negotiating out of court settlements. We can refer to counselling as needed. Some cases need to go to court for an adjudication. Most do not. We can help our clients settle their disputes without a final hearing.
Services to other law firms and other organisations. Aware of our distinctive expertise, we offer various services. We will act as London agents for English, UK and foreign law firms on international family law cases and complex domestic cases. We act as consultants to other law practice and organisations in complex cases. As specialist accredited lawyers, we act for other law firms’ established clients requiring our specialist skills. We provide in house lectures and presentations. We act for organisations anxious about international aspects of family law for their senior staff and executives.
