David Hodson OBE, MCIArb, partner and co-founder of The International Family Law Group LLP (iFLG), has been invited to become one of the first Fellows of the Asian Institute of Alternative Dispute Resolution (AIADR).
AIADR promotes the practice of ADR through affordable and accessible education and development of the profession across Asia and on other continents. This will be done through capacity building initiatives such as courses, training and networking sessions, which will be organised and implemented over the course of the next few months.
As one of the first Fellows to join the AIADR, David and iFLG will be in the unique position of helping to build the Institution from its early days, promoting the use of alternative dispute resolution, while, most importantly, contributing to capacity building of alternative dispute resolution. David will bring his knowledge and experience of ADR in family law around the world.
David has been involved in alternative dispute resolution for many years and has always been at the forefront of developments in this field. He was the originator and a creator of family arbitration in England and Wales, now emulated in other countries and was instrumental the creation of the English Family Law Accreditation Scheme. David is also the co-founder of The International Family Law Arbitration Scheme set up last year. The scheme is a digital platform designed to help international families avoid long and expensive forum litigation and help couples work out where any family differences should be resolved by ascertaining with which country they have the closest connection.
